A dust collector for use in shipyards and dry docks must be adaptable to a large variety of situations
When it comes to a BlueSky® shipyard or dry dock dust collector, compact and modular go hand in hand. Because of its sectional and modular design, it's never bigger than it needs to be. Always the right size, and because its low-profile design, it fits easily into tight spaces. A BlueSky® dust collector can accommodate two, three, four, or more sections depending on what dust-collection capacity is required.
The "secret weapon" of a BlueSky® dust collector is the SmartBox® module. This module contains the filters and captures the dust. For this reason, on-site personnel never comes in contact with dirty filters and, if the SmartBox®is used in its "sealed:" configuration, also not with dust the collected dust.
A BlueSky® shipyard dust collector can induce an airflow rate of up to 60.000 m³/Hr (40,000 CFM). It has up to 2 tons of dust capacity.

Dust collectors, short-term & long-term rentals
We offer industrial dust collectors as short-term rentals, as well as long-term rentals. Each size in the BlueSky® Gladiator® line-up is expandable, even after it has been put in place. This is done by simply adding another section. This need may arise when a project unexpectedly requires HEPA filtration or when a project needs to handle more dust than anticipated.

An estimated 26%–53% of COPD can be attributed to occupational exposures
National surveys have shown that exposure to dust, grain dust, organic dust, inorganic dust, fumes, hydrogen sulfide, diesel exhaust, environmental tobacco smoke, and chemicals increases the risk for COPD morbidity and mortality. — CDC (Centers for Disease Control)
The SmartBox option
Safety. The optional use of a SmartBox adds an extra layer of safety, essential when lead, asbestos, or other dangerous dust is present.
HEPA Filtration. When a SmartBox is used, the (optional) HEPA filters and the collected dust are locked together inside the SmartBox (sits in the blue carrier) —therefore personnel never needs to touch dangerous dust or dirty filters.
Shipyards
Dust collection systems can be a challenge to operate in shipyards because of restricted space and access. Despite these challenges, problem-free dust collection is essential to sustain high productivity.
BlueSky® dust collectors are available for short-term rentals, long-term lease or purchase.
Dry dock
BlueSky® dry dock dust collectors are ideal for temporary work in dry docks. Maintenance and repair work done in dry docks calls for dust collectors that are quickly set up, are easy to maintain and pose no health risks to workers.
BlueSky® dust collectors are an especially good choice when toxic dust such as lead, asbestos or dust from Chromate primers and paint are concerned.
